Dear Way,
Thanks for sharing your touching story here.
I guess it must be a hard decision to let go of your Malaysian passport. Though there were many times I was thinking of converting to Australian citizen, I am still 'holding on' my Malaysian passport because of my family is in Malaysia.
I guess, now you build your own family in Melbourne, it is also your home now in Melbourne.
For me, I am even more 'confused' now :) I have my Australian Permenant Residency, Malaysian passport and am currently applying for Canadian Permenant Residency ! Hee hee.....I am kind of collecting PR from around the world :)
Yeah ! As you said, just embrace what we have now, which is the most beautiful gifts of all is a wise and happy way to live. All the best to both of us.
Will see you in Melbourne soon !!

Hello Shirley,

I really enjoy watching your short yet sweet film about " going home, leaving home"...
Having my hubby and two girls here in Melbourne and holding an Australian passport, I have to regard Melbourne as my first home, yet at the back of my mind, in my dreams and subconsciouly, I still call Malaysia home-- the place where my immediate family lives, where I learn the joys and sorrows of childhood and adulthood, the familiar faces of my old mates, and most of all, I miss my mum.... Life is so much better and easier when she is around me.....

So sometimes I am stucked in this "Where is my home" dilemma, but thank "Buddha", to learn how to let go and embrace what you have NOW is the greatest gift of all.... Nothing is permanet, so is our definition of home... One day, when we are all getting very old, we night call "nursing home' our home, ha ha.. Hope not!
